1. Seventeen (17) positive cases.
- Two (2) cases at Her Majesty’s Prison Northward
- Two (2) cases in Cayman Brac
As of 19th May, the cumulative number of positive cases of COVID-19 is ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN (111) and is broken down as follows:
Active – 55 (Symptomatic – 12; Asymptomatic – 43)
Recovered – 55
Deceased – 1

2. The Legislative Assembly will meet tomorrow (20th May) to review proposed legislation primarily for the financial services industry. Therefore, there will be no press briefing scheduled for tomorrow.

4. The new COVID-19 Suppression (Shelter-in-Place) Regulations came in to effect at 5:00am this morning and can be viewed at the following link: http://www.gov.ky/portal/pls/portal/docs/1/12960481.PDF.

5. Any work permit holders returning to the Cayman Islands will be required to cover the costs of the quarantine.
The preliminary cost is expected to be CI$2,600 and this includes all meals and services during the 14-day required minimum stay and the COVID-19 test. If the quarantine is required to be extended, additional costs will apply.
