1. No test results to announce today.
As at 8th April, the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is at FORTY-FIVE** (45) and is broken down as follows:
Active – 38
Recovered – 6
Deceased – 1

2. The COVID-19 test kits from South Korea arrived in Grand Cayman today. The Cayman Islands acquired 200,000 test kits in total with 35,000 of those being held in the United Kingdom until a later date. The total expenditure was US$4.4 million equating to approximately US$22 per kit.
The DART organisation sponsored and arranged the logistics of shipping including the chartering of the aircraft.
Susan Olde OBE donated fifty percent of the total cost (approx. US$2 million) for the test kits.

3. The United States Government seized a shipment bound for the Cayman Islands consisting of 8 ventilators, 50,000 masks, and other key healthcare items.
The Premier and Government are currently working to source an additional 30 ventilators from other sources.
