Synopsis of CIG Press Briefing
1. FOUR (4) POSITIVE TESTS.
- Two of these persons had travel history outside of the Cayman Islands with the other two having had direct contact with those travellers.
- The number of positive cases of COVID-19 is now at THIRTEEN* (13) with 1 deceased.
(*This number includes 1 preliminary positive result tested locally but still awaiting confirmation from CARPHA.)

2. Police checkpoints will be in place at strategic points around the island during the hours of Soft Curfew (5:00am – 7:00pm) and all persons must have legitimate reasons for passing through.

3. A new system for shopping at grocery stores across the country will be in place beginning Monday 30th March 2020 until further notice. The following persons will only be allowed to enter supermarkets at the following intervals:
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday – Adults with last names beginning with A – K.
- Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday – Adults with last names beginning with L – Z.
All Supermarkets are authorised to open until 6:00pm from Monday – Saturday with the following opening times:
- Fosters/Priced Right will open at 6:00am, with the first hour (6-7am) for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women only.
- Hurley’s & Cost U Less will open at 7:00am, with the first hour (7-8am) for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women only.
- Kirk Market will open at 6:00am, with “front of line” service for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women during operating hours.
- Essential Government staff (or other persons with an essential employee letter) will have a dedicated line at each of the above locations (except for Kirk Market) at 5:00pm – 6:00pm each day.
- All supermarkets listed above allows senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and pregnant women to access the “front of line” during all hours of operation.
