Synopsis of CIG Press Briefing
1. NO ADDITIONAL POSITIVE TESTS.
- 15 tests all returned as negative.
- The number of positive cases of COVID-19 remains at NINE* (9) with 1 deceased.
(*This number includes 1 preliminary positive result tested locally but still awaiting confirmation from CARPHA.)

2. The Premier announced the official survival plan entitled “Stay Home Cayman” with the Attorney General providing details on the regulations.
- The current form of an extended hard curfew will end at 5:00am Saturday 28th March.
- The Shelter-in-Place regime (a soft curfew) will begin at 5:01am Saturday 28th March until 7:00pm on the same day and thereafter on a daily basis for the same time period.
- These regulations for the Shelter-in-Place regime will be effective for an initial period of ten (10) days beginning on Saturday 28th March.
- The “hard curfew” will remain in place for the hours of 7:00pm – 5:00am each night, until Friday 3rd April (unless extended or reduced).
- Supermarkets/grocery stores, gas stations, health services, liquor stores and banks will be allowed to open for the public, some with reduced hours.
- Persons will also be permitted to exercise (and walk dogs) in outdoor public spaces for no more than one and a half (1.5) hours each day.
- Persons must remain within their home or yard space at all times, except for any of the approved reasons.
- A list of categories for exceptions have been created and will be provided when published. All other businesses are required to remain closed and not offer services to the public. All non-essential employees of these businesses are required to remain at home.
- Gatherings, parties, and events of more than two (2) persons are NOT allowed, unless these persons are members of the same household.

3. As a reminder, it is a requirement to maintain a social distance of 6ft between each and all persons. This social distance requirement also applies to all approved organisations accepting persons of the public for business.

4. Persons can use the beach during their brief one and a half (1.5) hours exercise time, however there should be no activity ON the water (i.e. boats, personal water crafts, paddle boards, etc).
