1. One (1) POSITIVE case.
- This person had direct contact to a confirmed positive case
As at 16th April, the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is SIXTY-ONE (61) and is broken down as follows:

Recovered – 7
Deceased – 1

2. Pursuant to section 49(1) of the Police Law (2017 Revision), the Commissioner of Police has issued an order to extend the Hard Curfew across the country until 5:00am 1st May 2020.
- Hard Curfew will continue to be in force from 7:00pm – 5:00am nightly until 1st May 2020.
- The full 24-hour (full day) Hard Curfew for each Sunday will continue during this period (19th April & 26th April).

3. All beaches in the Cayman Islands will continue to be closed until 5:00am on 1st May 2020.
- This includes walking/running in the sand, entering the water, fishing, or any marine activity.
- Private property owners with direct beach access are not allowed beyond the high water mark.

4. The Soft Curfew regulations have been extended until 1st May 2020 and will include the following amendments:
- Exercise will be allowed during the hours of 5:15am – 6:45pm on Monday – Saturday.
- Persons will no longer be able to drive a vehicle to a point of exercise.

5. Government has instructed the Cayman Islands Development Bank (CIDB) to allow a three (3) month loan payment holiday.

6. Cabinet has approved changes to the respective regulations to allow the notarizing of documents virtually using live audio and video technology.

7. The Premier has announced that the Legislative Assembly will meet on 22nd April 2020 in person to approve amendments to Standing Orders in order to meet virtually.
In keeping with social distancing requirements, the Premier and Leader of the Opposition have agreed to meet with six Government members and four Opposition members to form a quorum.
Once the amendments have been approved and accepted by Members and the Governor, the Legislative Assembly will meet virtually on 23rd April 2020. This meeting will be used to elect a Deputy Speaker and amend various laws such as the:
- Pension Law: creation of a 6-month contribution holiday; allow a withdrawal from pension fund.
- Traffic Law: to exempt various categories of fees; to allow vehicle registration renewals without inspection.
- Immigration Law: to allow Cabinet to exempt persons to remain lawfully landed and work in the country if their work permits have expired.

8. There will be at least one Emergency Evacuation Charter to Canada next week. However, in order for Canadian citizens to access this flight, the Canadian government requires that their citizens register as a “Canadian Abroad” by visiting the following link: https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/registration.

9. The Minister of Health, Hon. Dwayne Seymour, announced that the ministry will be distributing masks across the country in each constituency through the respective Members of the Legislative Assembly.
