Synopsis of CIG Press Briefing
1. SIX (6) POSITIVE CASES.
- Five (5) persons had direct contact to persons with travel history with four (4) of them being of the same household.
- The one (1) inconclusive case has now been confirmed as POSITIVE and considered a community transmission.
As at 2nd April, the number of positive cases of COVID-19 is at TWENTY-EIGHT** (28) and is broken down as follows:
Active – 27
(with 15 patients “clinically better”)
Deceased – 1

2. The Premier announced that the Hard Curfew and Soft Curfew will both be extended by a further two (2) weeks. Beginning Monday 6th April, the curfews will be:
- Soft Curfew – 5:00am – 7:00pm on Monday – Saturday
- Hard Curfew – 7:00pm – 5:00am on Monday – Saturday/Sunday
- Extended Hard Curfew – 24-hours on Sunday

3. Beginning on Monday 6th April 2020, the alphabetical system applied to surnames will be enforced across the board for all purposes. Persons will only be allowed to leave their place of residence for essential purposes at the following intervals:
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday – Persons with last names beginning with A – K.
- Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday – Persons with last names beginning with L – Z.
- There will be no movement permitted on Sunday (24-hour hard curfew)

4. The Government has secured 200,000 COVID-19 test kits from South Korea and the logistics for importation is currently being formulated.

5. To collect your shipments from Customs & Border Control (Grand Cayman), please contact their office at 244-4959 or customsonlinesupport@gov.ky for an exemption letter to complete your transaction.
There will be no storage fees charged on goods imported seven (7) days prior to or during the COVID-19 emergency.
